A summary of life lately
^^ One of the last beautiful autumn colored trees in Cville
I promised myself I would write one last weekly post, and it’s been too long since the last one! I have a lot of catching up to do! We’re hosting Thanksgiving, so there’s a lot to do before school ends. And my parents are coming tomorrow! This will be your first visit to our new home and we can’t wait for you to experience it in person.
New family photos
I had to share this photo of Gus right away. We sat on the porch and he put his head in my lap!
More family photos coming soon 🙂
If you need something to wear for family photos, I recommend this. wine color sweater I bought in Amazon. I’m OBSESSED with it and might get it in more colors! It is economical and very cozy. I wear a small. Also loving me LOFT jeans.
I also bought this flowy dress After seeing someone else recommend it. It’s great for fall and long sleeve weather and comes in a dozen different colors! I bought a small one. Unfortunately, the white one was a little see-through, so I’ll be swapping it out for a black one with white dots!
Lastly, I finally did something I’ve wanted to do for some time and bought the Highest dose sauna blanket. They’re 20% off right now! Infrared saunas have many health benefits and I recently listened to Jenna Kutcher’s podcast interview with the founders of Higher Dose. They sold me the benefits of biohacking. We may still install a real sauna in the next few years (Thomas and I are big sauna lovers and have a steam sauna in our gym). I will report back if I notice any physical benefits when I start doing infrared several times a week. I can’t wait to get on it on a freezing snowy day either!
If you are a family that plays, Prepare this for yourself for vacations! We haven’t tried it yet, but I can’t wait to play.
I posted two new reels on Instagram with recipes!
Apple and spice smoothie
The first was with Maola Milk. Maola is a local and sustainable milk brand central to the Mid-Atlantic region. Many of Maola’s Virginia farms, owned by family farmers and produced locally, are located in the Shenandoah Valley.
I made an apple spice smoothie with their milk plus fresh apples, apple cider, and oats (see below), and it turned out fabulous! Spoiler alert: wait until you try their eggnog! Watch the reel video and get the recipe here!
Blue Apron Shrimp
The second reel was with Blue Apron. I talked about how I use a “cook once, eat twice” meal cadence to save a lot of time. Check out that video and the shrimp recipe I made here.! Plus, they gave me a cool $200 off promo code to share. get $200 off 6 orders—Plus, your first order ships free.
It’s also Thanksgiving Charcuterie Board season! Check out my newest YouTube instructional video 🙂
I’ve been drinking a big smoothie in the mornings! It has simplified my life and I feel like I am off to a very healthy start. Thomas and I shared a AG1 smoothie almost every day made with frozen banana, peanut butter, AG1milk and sometimes more spinach.
Or I will do a smoothie box mix! This is the mango, which I love and so do the boys.
Favorite salad for lunch
I’m still not sick of this amazing salad! Orange marmalade dressing, blue cheese, chicken, candied walnuts, and parm fries! I have it at least twice a week.
Dinners have been a mix of Blue Apron and Green Chef!
Crab Stir Fry
Barrimundi with Apricot Sauce and Smoked Orzo with Chard
Black Bean and Sweet Potato Enchiladas
Lunch at Pippin Hill
I had a lovely ladies lunch at Pippin Hill with my MIL and my Aunt Layton. We were all looking forward to making this whipped feta cheese sauce at home!
This is the season
To stock up on immunity gummies! We love the Llama Naturals brand..
Finally, I am very proud of our future soccer player! He went from crying on the sidelines at every practice to scoring FOUR goals this season! I think he finally clicked 🙂
